St. John Neumann Parish

Faith Enrichment for Children and Teens

St. John Neumann

The Church teaches that parents are the primary educators of their children in the ways of the faith. The parish provides support in the religious formation of children through Faith Enrichment programs and sacramental preparation.

Programs offered for each age group are described below.

Registration begins July 1, 2017.

Families can register on-line.

Children are placed in sessions in the order that registration forms are received. Families are notified of their child's placement in late August.

Preschool and Kindergarten

Early education forms a strong foundation for faith development. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd provides this strong foundation beginning at age three, introducing children to story, song and prayer.

Middle School

  • Good Shepherd Level III (Grades 5 & 6) introduces the Plan of God - exploring themes of creation, exodus, redemption, and parousia as viewed through the actions of Old Testament people and events that prefigure the mystery of Christ we see in the New Testament.  Level III allows children to continue work on themes of scripture (parables and prophecies) and liturgy (Mass and sacraments) begun in earlier levels, while also introducing new materials including the Miracles of Jesus and the Virtues.
  • Students who have been attending elementary programs at Sts. John & Paul may continue at Sts. John & Paul with their 6th grade weekly Faith Formation or Home Study.

Grades 7 & 8

There are two choices for 7th and 8th graders:

  • IGNITE Middle School for 7th and 8th Graders
